Folate (Folic Acid)

  • Folate may be associated with male fertility. Findings from a recent study associate low sperm counts in healthy men with reduced levels of folate.
  • Involvement in homocysteine conversion may reduce risk of osteoporosis.
  • May be associated with a reduction in risk for cervical cancer.
  • Essential to cell formation and renewal.
  • May help reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease.
Asparagus, beets, broccoli, spinach, avocados, brussels sprouts, savoy cabbage, turkey, dried beans, chick peas, soybeans, lentils, oranges, and fresh peas are all excellent sources of folic acid.

Unforeseen high demands may occasionally necessitate an item substitution in a basket. The substitution will always be of equal or greater value. In addition, we reserve the right to suspend the shipping of chocolate when temperatures could cause melting. Typically we substitute other products for chocolate from May-September, but unusually warm weather my necessitate substitutions at other times of the year.
